DKB Code Factory

Builds the app and digital products of DKB, a German direct bank.

About the Role

Help shape products at their earliest and roughest stage. We are building a discovery team for the phase before the roadmap is fixed, where ideas are still vague and the right direction has not been chosen yet. You take rough ideas and messy customer problems and turn them into one tangible product direction a team can build. You lead discovery, build strong prototypes, and help teams decide what to build, test, change, or stop. This is not a delivery role; you move across topics as the work changes and stay hands-on throughout.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Design with high craft. Turn concepts into high-fidelity prototypes, product flows, and interfaces that feel like a real product. Care about the details and the polish.
  • Turn ideas into bold concepts. Think in bold ways and shape strong ideas from vague input. Be a sharp product thinker who knows what is worth building, and design for the whole product, not separate features.
  • Lead early discovery. Frame unclear problems and set hypotheses. Guide teams from first questions to a clear product direction.
  • Facilitate alignment. Run workshops, design sprints, and co-creation with Product, Research, Engineering, and Business. Bring the right people in at the right time.

What You'll Bring

A maker and a doer who cares more about building than talking about it.
Ability to know when to move fast and when to slow down for the details that matter.
Excellent design craft with deep knowledge of design basics and high visual quality.
Ability to tell the story by explaining design choices and their impact so people follow and buy in.
6+ years in product design, with strong discovery and design work to show.
A portfolio of discovery-led case studies that show both strong thinking and high-quality design.
Strong product thinking and collaboration across Product, Research, Engineering, and Business.
High standards and low ego. Push for quality and challenge weak ideas without making the work about yourself.
Comfort with uncertainty, entering new topics fast and working without a clean brief.
Fluency in English and German (C1+).
Passion for your work.
