About the Role

  • Senior UI/UX professional with deep experience in casual mobile F2P games.
  • Looking for someone who understands what makes games intuitive and compelling and can translate that into clean, effective design.
  • Seeking a professional who finds satisfaction in both polished UI screens and well-validated UX flows, comfortable owning work end-to-end.
  • Small team environment where the process moves from quick prototyping through marketing validation to building a vertical slice and, if successful, towards a launch.
  • You will shape UX early to help validate concepts and take on UI design and production as the build progresses toward various releases.
  • This is a 1-year fixed-term contract.
  • While (re)location to Berlin is preferred, remote applications will also be considered.
  • Working hours are standard Berlin working times (roughly 9 to 18).

What You'll Be Doing

  • Design and create UI screens, icons, flows, buttons, and game components for early-stage casual F2P mobile games, staying true to a defined art direction.
  • Maintain and evolve UI style guides and Design Systems for consistency across screens and features.
  • Own UX for new game prototypes, ensuring mechanics are intuitive and easy to onboard into.
  • Translate game design and monetization requirements into clear, player-friendly interfaces.
  • Collaborate closely with artists, game designers, product managers, and engineers.
  • Work independently to scope, prioritize, and own delivery of work.
  • Report directly to the Creative Director of New Games.

What You'll Bring

Prior experience in the mobile gaming industry.
Strong UI design and execution skills and sharp UX instincts, with the ability to shift from concept-stage UX validation to UI production.
A solid grasp of onboarding, retention, and monetization-friendly design patterns.
2D art skills for UI execution, including icons, popups, liveops screens, and supporting visual elements in a defined art style.
A portfolio demonstrating range across UI production, UX validation, and supporting art.
Ability to work autonomously and drive ambiguous problems to resolution while incorporating feedback from the Creative Director and cross-functional partners.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain decisions clearly to various cross-disciplinary stakeholders.
Proficiency with standard design tools (e.g., Figma, Photoshop, or equivalent) as well as Unity for implementation and testing.
Comfort working in a small team, prototyping, wearing multiple hats, and shifting between conceptual and hands-on work.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Generous relocation package and home search support if not already located in Berlin.
  • Significant education budget and extra days off for self-development, including access to meet-ups, talks, brown bag lunches, internal trainings, and workshops.
  • Yoga, mindfulness app, sports, and transport subsidies.
  • A Purpose Day to donate your time to a worthy cause.
  • German language classes for you and your significant other.
  • Hybrid work model: work in the office with your teams twice a week, with the choice to work from home or the office for the remaining three days.
  • 10 days a year to work from abroad.
