About the Role

  • HelloFresh is reorganising UX to work AI-native, where practitioners either go deep as platform and skills experts or broad as generalists who move across product, design and engineering.
  • This role leads UX for the Operations organisation, which bridges technology with physical fulfilment, procurement, quality assurance and supply chain across every market and brand.
  • The role inherits a trajectory from a previous Director who shifted the function to a high-leverage, AI-native strategic partner, including an internal design platform integrated with AI tooling.
  • High-stakes projects for 2026 include algorithmic menu planning at scale and internal tools for supply-chain decision-making.
  • This is a Berlin-based, in-person leadership role where regular physical presence with peers, the team, and cross-functional stakeholders is a deliberate requirement.
  • Reports to HelloFresh's VP of UX, who also leads UX for two other major parts of the business and reports into senior Product leadership.
  • UX holds a central, cross-functional reporting line with visible sponsorship at the executive level.

What You'll Be Doing

  • UX strategy and quality across four core areas of Operations: menu planning and food systems (algorithmic menu planning, ranking, demand forecasting, assortment), fulfillment (production, order management, inventory, logistics, manufacturing, supplier reliability), an internal operations-research platform that runs optimization models across the supply chain, and the technology backbone for warehouses and production sites.
  • Continued build-out of an AI-native design practice by extending Design Systems directly into AI-assisted workflows.
  • Service design for internal-facing tools used by operators, planners and analysts.
  • Talent leadership for a distributed team spanning multiple geographies, including hiring, career development, and maintaining consistent design-quality standards.
  • Partnering directly with senior Product and Engineering leaders for the organization and representing UX's interests in company-wide strategy.

What You'll Bring

10+ years in UX/product design, including several years leading design for complex, operational, or B2B/enterprise-grade systems such as supply chain, logistics, or marketplace operations.
A track record of shifting a design function from reactive delivery to strategic, AI-native practice.
Experience building or scaling Design Systems or platforms that other teams adopt.
Comfort operating at the intersection of design, product and engineering.
Strong stakeholder management skills for partnering with senior product, engineering and executive leadership.
Comfort with ambiguity and unglamorous domains, such as service design for internal operators and planners.

  • HelloFresh-subsidized Pension Scheme.
  • Berlin relocation support.

  • Mental health support.
